Hastings Bands Student Account Fundraising Policy

The Hastings Band Boosters sponsor several student account fundraisers for senior high and marching band students. Another great fundraising opportunity is offered through Achieving Dreams. Earnings from these fundraisers go into your band or marching band student activity account. By participating in any of these fundraisers, you agree to follow the Student Activity Account Policy.

Hastings Bands Student Activity Account Policy

Student Activity Accounts (senior high and marching band only) can be used to pay for band/marching band related expenses such as band camps and trips, concert attire and uniform accessories. Due to new state finance rules, (as of 2019) students are no longer able to use fundraised money for expendable items (like reeds, oil, lesson books) or to purchase instruments. Cash payments cannot be made from this account. Money CANNOT be transferred to another department. but may be transferred between Band and Marching Band with director approval only if absolutely necessary. When a student graduates or quits band, remaining money can go to a sibling in the middle school or high school band program. Otherwise, it becomes part of the general band account. These guidelines are in keeping with current school district policy.
